Introduced with Autodesk 3ds Max 2017-2022. i've gone back a few check-ins in SVN and found when it was okay, it was just before i started UVing in anger, dunno if that could be related. They should at the very least be in 0(default). At some point today (i've had my head down in Uvs and haven't really noticed when) all my existing objects have. Now after that I have repaired, reinstalled and uninstalled and performed a clean reinstall of 3ds Max 2017 but it still does not seem to work. It usually only took me a few seconds with the previous version.
I've got quite a complex max file that relies heavily on layers for navigation, export etc. The 3ds Max dlls seem to vanish one fine day, upon closer inspection I found that there was a windows update. I tried it on 3ds Max 2017 and it was taking 5 minutes, or more, per prop.
